Is it worth repairing the fuel tanks when they get dented? If so, any referrals? Chicago area preferable but will ship if needed.

That's a little more than a dent. Those creases will be a problem.

meh... nothing a little (ok a lot of) Bondo can't fix. Yes, I'm serious. As long as it's not leaking now... start trying to pull that dent and then you'll have cracks and leaks to deal with.

Shit...don't pull the dent...just use the flat spot to put your beer.

Looks for a tank that is crushed on the left side, then cut one up as a patch panel for the other.

ANYTHING can be fixed , I could fix it or pack it full of mud BUT the price would be more than a used tank lol

there's a OEM part number for a gunmetal silver, totally bare r6 tank. Price is about $325 .. i would have to dig around to find that part number. Any dealer can order .

bingo. that's it. Many sites are showing $330+- without any discounts. Since a tank will likely get painted, this is a good option to have. Many people ask $400 for a USED tank, and it sometimes needs some prep (minor dings) prior to painting.
