Best motorcycle brake pad spreader tool?

I just discovered that these things exist.

I've been pushing pads/pistons apart as necessary with a slotted screwdriver.

I'd like to pick something up that minimizes the risk of injuring the pads, and wanted to ask if anyone is using one of these?

Apparently MotionPro used to make one, but no longer does.

    Any input is appreciated.

    Thank you!

I saw someone using one that looked like this. My only hesitation is that the bit to slip between the pads looks quite thick, like it might be hard to fit in some of them.

Have you ever used one like this? Is it much better?

I use a flat chisel wrapped in a shop towel... Honestly if that hurts the pads in anyway I wont run that brand...

Large flathead screwdriver, with a towel if you're worried. Or a plastic putty knife.

Just be gentle, should be enough.

...or use a bench grinder and simply grind down the edges of a good size flathead screwdriver.

Remember to loosen the reservoir cap and just go slow and easy.

Damn, jus Damn...It was funny...running across your post as the hair on my neck was starting to stiffen up.:D

best thing I found is a large Brick Chisel kinda thin, wide and NEVER fucks up the pads..Brakes Pads are kinda Important to Motorcycle RoadRacing.

I use a tire spoon, they ones that look like a spoon with the round end. Cause it is already in the tool box and has never hurt anything. Normally not needed as long as no one touches the brake lever when the tire/rim is off, but someone always does, some times I do it by mistake.

Spreading pads? Very carefully with a screwdriver. Spreading caliper pistons? I push the pistons in with my fingers.
