Dammit, I was caught in a time warp. I was thinking Road Atlanta when I posted that comment, not Barber.
The good: Watching my son in law Tim Bemisderfer come from row 10 to win the Formula One race on Saturday, turning 1:29.0 in the process. The bad: There was no bad. Best GNF in a long time.
Pre pay for your spot in advance like Nola does it. That's the best system I have seen so far. Road Atlanta system failed us back in June, 5th hauler in line and 20th through the gate once the late comer Johnny's stampeded the gate once the go signal was given. I have voiced my displeasure to the Barber staff both times, back in June and this time about the Lot G chaos. Told them how to avoid this and it's like talking to a wall.
Except the Barber lady at the window has no clue. She wanted me to hand her $100 and go hunt for power. All she cared about was selling out "available" power.
I agree and I wondered about the power availability when I paid. The Nola system is by the number on the power pole which barber has theirs numbered to. When you arrive at the gate the guard has a pre paid power list. He simply escorts you to the pole and unlocks the box on the pole. I do know of one incident where a pre pay didn't work there because some one parked at his spot but the Nola staff made good on his inconvience due to someone else's lack of respect in the system.
Theses were unsolicited opinions. I'm still tired and head to Vegas tomorrow for another event. I need a nap.
From a security standpoint, That's a significant amount of cash to have on hand. I would think a CC machine would be a much safer option. But then again, maybe they don't want the fees associated with it.
I didn't get one of the tiles, but always like to see awards other than the standard particle board with a sticker or cheap plastic cup on a cheap plastic base.
Best part... wrapping up the WERA Lightweight endurance series with a national win. Worst part... Huey trying to give me a lap dance. "GET OFF ME YA BIG HOOEY BEAR... DAMMIT!"
