Looking for new grips. Anything to know about the different kinds out there? Soft, Medium, Hard? Preferences? Longevity?
Ribbed, for her pleasure. Actually I like the motion pro ones that came with their kit. They were thinner and that let me get awesome grip on the bar when I needed it (leprechaun hands)
I use the Renthal dual-compound ones on my race bike. On my street bike I've tried a bunch and I've found these made by Domino (I believe they are called "Parco") to be the most comfortable I've tried. I think they used to come OEM on KTM dual-sports, had to razor the end open.
I used spider grips in the past and liked them alot, but on my latest bike I needed grips in a hurry and a local shop had Driven brand "diamond grippy" grips in stock. I have a new favorite. They are a bit thick, but a quick look online shows that they now have a "grippy thin' for those who prefer a thinner grip.
Spider Grips or the newish Kevlar from Renthal. Super tacky, great feel and they haven't worn noticeably in a year of daily riding.
I'm gathering that harder compound equates to longer life and less feel and, softer compound yields more feel but shorter life?
The Peak is what we've been using. http://spidergrips.com/spiderg/models/introducing-the-new-spider-peak-grip/ Have used several other brands over the years. I like these best.
Generally yes, but everyone has different tastes as to what feels right. Not much help for making a decision I know but you may just have to experiment.
The best grips I have ever used and have sold over 50 sets since i started selling them. OURY grips ftw!
