It's going back and forth, not sure what the final outcome will be.

Why the popcorn? They already got kicked out once, not holding my breath on it until they get a signed contract and show up at the track.

I disagree. I would think more people would do it because of the venue. It would be a "must do" on many schedules.

Kinda like Miller the first few years.

I drove there 36 hours straight:)

  8. Oh i agree...i would probably be one of them. :)

But i think hoping hundreds of people see it as a "must do" and will make the drive is too big of a risk for WERA.

Obviously i am in no place to speak for WERA, that is just my opinion.

Is it worth the risk to WERA? In this day and time absolutely not.

If there were a way to make everyone Pre-pay their entries, a year in advance, and actually look at who will actually commit with their wallets rather than their mouth, then ts too big a gamble.

    Tdub Say what???

They apparently have a contract and both days are sold out.

RS trackdays at COTA sold out in 48 hrs.
Max riders on track per COTA rules is 45
RS reserved a few spots for instructors/control riders
    8:00 Am to 6:30 PM
    4 levels x40 spots =160 people
    160 X $460= $73,600 per day in revenue
    2 Days X $73,600 = 147,200 in revenue

The cost to rent the track was originally quoted at $32,500/day......word is that price is now close to 50k/day.

This may be the only time I will ever be on a FIA grade 1 certified track, the only one in the USA. One of 26 in the world.

If the CMRA and WERA could do a joint COTA race weekend in a few yrs, I'm so in. Double the entry fees and I'm still in! A one time special COTA license/surcharge, I'm in!
    I'm in!

They and a lot of others supposedly did before the mass cancellations. I honestly hope they do get to run it.

I would pay double race fees to race there.

CMRA and WERA should come together anyways and make something happen asap. I think it time to start thinking how can we help each other out instead of starving to death.

And there is the rub....revenue/cost sharing.

pretty sure the minimum fee would have to be quadrupple. If folks are paying $460 for 1 day... that's probably close to what the minimum would be for a single race. And I would count on 3 wave starts ala the GNF this year.

We've talked about it and have a good relationship with each other just haven't had anything work out yet.

I would love to have CMRA come back to being a WERA affiliate. It was great for both of us when we did it before. Main thing is it was really good for the riders.
