He rode an AMA superbike once, or was an AMA superbike rider? I think there is a difference... No disresect to Dave at all, but I remember the day we showed him around Road Atlanta on his 84 Ninja in a set of leathers he borrwed from Vic Fasola. I just didn't realize he did much racing, much less AMA stuff.
I don't know his racing history. I just thought it was strange to hear that he raced those bikes against those riders according to the commentary...That was when I first got into the bike racing scene so I just thought it was strange because I've only known him from his announcing days, I've never heard anyone say that he used to race himself.
