The STT Southern director is around 60 and is one of the fastest guys in the Southeast. Age is a number. Unlike ball sports, you don't need to have a 40" vertical, 365 bench or 4.4-40yrd dash to be successfull.
going on my 6th season. 4th full season in a row. not sure how much longer i will do full seasons. money is not a issue, but getting burnt out with all the travel i have to do for work + for racing.
I'm 53 and last year was season 21. I've always said I would stop when it wasn't fun anymore. I'm now planning year 22!
When ebay runs put of parts. Started Roadracing in 1972, I am now 65. I have one of those blue handicap tags in my window. Cant walk, bend stand for long, so i should be good for another 5 or 10. Sam Williams #47 SCVR
Just remember, you little punk, age and treachery will outperform youth and enthusiasm every time and us old-timers have more experience backing down the loading ramp than you have being alive. Grrrrrr.
I'm 26, gonna start racing the bike probably this year, I will stay in some form of motorsports till it kills me. Hopefully as old or older then some of the previous posters.
A reasonable plan, John. Some dudes in the old AMA 250gp pro class were older than me. A good bunch of folks.
You know what I hate? Some bike blows by you and you don't recognize it or the rider. Then you get back in the pits and the guy takes his helmet off and he's a gray haired old guy.
