Hi fellows this is the McDonald boys first foray into Ninja 250 racing so I have a question or two if you don't mine:
    - are the fast guys running race fuel?
    - if so what is the most popular type?
    - about how much fuel will we use during the four hours?
    - do you expect a set of tires to last the race distance?

Thanks for any insight you are willing to share, just trying to be in the ball park.

I usually run XXX118, but I rejetted it the other day back to pump gas, race fuel is too much $$ for 4 hrs!

Tires will definitely last, not sure what will be left of them after the weekend though.

We're going to figure out the gas mileage on Saturday, but it might be different between the bikes, since not everyone will be using the same jets.

Bridgestone tires love you long time, so yes, we expect one set to last.

    Ken,

we are going with 4.2 cut 50% w/ pump, or 118 XXX, i have 8 gallons of each wasting away:D

rough guess on fuel , 16 laps per gallon, based on what we used last weekend. 08" tanks hold 4.8 gal. per manuel specs.
should be enough to go 1hr. 20 min, w/ lap times of 1:12 to 15

one set of tires, front will wear out first

    hope this helps

Red Fox Racing Age is only a number

What Chris said, we think we will be close on 1hour 20minutes, for a full tank....we think the pace will be higher....depends on the temp for the race.

4.4 cut 50/50 w/93 oct has been working well on my Ex. If we went w/that on the practice day and got the jetting right it might be a low cost performance option.
Kurt, I'll have the spare carbs so we could have jetting changes done and just switch the entire unit (changing out the one diaphram w/the tear).

That almost sounds like work. :D

Bring the carbs and jets, we can play around.

Thanks for the replies, good info!
4.2 cut 50% sounds like a good plan, I think we have a can or two that needs to be used.

McDonald Racing might just have to kick some tires, if the boys like this 250 racin.

Awesome idea!! Do the windows open up in the tower? I'm thinking birds eye shot at the start/finish would be great.
