So with the new model from last year did Kawi improve the durability of the new 600? Previously the 636 had major tranny issues, just wondering if they caried over into the new zx6?

They carried it over. Engine durability is great and the horsepower is very good. Gearbox is made of cheese.

When the transmission on my 05 636 took a dump I sent it out to these guys:

Phenomenal service and these guys really know their stuff. I would recommend that you take the transmission out now while it is still good and ship it out to them. If I ever wine up buying another Kawi I will be sure to send it out to them for a once over.

The '07+ bikes have a cassette style transmission that I though were better than the earlier stuff.

Previous owner did 8000 street miles and I did a "season" of racing/trackdays, my '07 did great.

Good news is that the cassette style trans. comes out in 15 minutes.

No transmission issues. The new gears sets in 2007 were on par with previous years kit items.
