Yes. A 40+ yo rider who still has it can run Superbike and DSB. Otherwise they can go run WERA. Tray Batey is awesome to watch race and he's still beating others 1/3rd his age.
+1 I know somebody who works part-time with AMA Pro Racing T&S and I don't think that it is fair to throw him and/or his peers under the bus over this.
Yes. I worked there for four years. I have been communicating with the people still there. There's more to it than meets the TV monitor.
It's Soup, not the AMA. I handle pr for Paradigm and have emailed Soup at least 3-4 times about this.
Is it really Soup's fault? I clearly remember RRW initially showing some DSB results from Infineon that also had Alan Schmidt on the Latus Buell. Those results were later 'updated' on RRW to correctly show Taylor Knapp instead. Regardless, the original, incorrect Infineon DSB results were on the RRW website at least long enough for me to see them. So, does RRW get their AMA results from Soup or from AMA Pro Racing? I think I know the answer to that.
Since people are wondering about the results...how are they given to the press sites? In a simple email with the grid of data all filled in? or is it just number, time and placement? I'm guessing it's a grid all filled in.

From another web posting: "They say my fuel is illegal," team owner Kevin Erion said in a telephone conversation on Friday evening. Erion explained that he'd bought his control Sunoco GTX 260 fuel from a distributor in Southern California, as he'd done all season. The fuel was purchased in a drum about a week earlier, before his race truck left Southern California. "It didn't pass the AMA's tests and I have no dispute that it didn't, because it didn't. I don't test the fuel, I just buy it." Erion pointed out that the smaller of the two openings on the fuel drum was marked "Texaco," which he said he pointed out to AMA tech boss Al Ludington. Erion tried calling the company for clarification, but they were closed. From the RuleBook: 3.4 Fuel a. The official fuel of AMA Pro Racing is Sunoco 260GTX and its exclusive use in unadulterated form is required. b. All competitors must use the official fuel, as supplied by the manufacturer at the track during all on-track sessions.
I am a dumbass. Didn't click on the pic in Hooper's post. Jumped to conclusion. I apologize to the T&S crew. They weren't guilty of causing this problem. It wasn't fair to blame them for this one. I was already pissed off because the T&S system wasn't rotating correctly to show places below 15th all day Friday, and it is now a rare weekend when the thing works right from the start. Last year it was a rare weekend when it didn't work right from the start. Plus they keep showing different hometowns on a few foreign guys. The system is not running right, but in this case it wasn't their problem. Again, sorry, I apologize for my previous post in this thread.

Fortunately for them, they don't work for me. But like I said, earlier in this thread I got it wrong. So I apologize again for that. Sorry. But I still think it's time to fire people. Just not for the example in Hooper's post.
That is correct, the issue is out of our hands, but all efforts are being made to restore service. We have no idea why the servers were shut down and it just emphasizes to me the need to take this project in-house where we can make our own mistakes or our own success without relying on others over whom we have no control. Keep the faith....they are working on it! As to firing people....no one is getting fired. The crew having difficulties this year is mostly the same crew from last year. There have been transition issues in the transfer from AMA to our equipment as well as unexpected events like the track not throwing the right breakers at Daytona. John Ulrich has suggested many times that we need to get in a day early to test this stuff and I agree. At the same time, we are trying to cut team costs by eliminating the Thursday practice days. Up until this most recent collapse, I was under the impression that we were making improvements and moving forward. I have instructed my team that budget is not an issue here. We don't have money to waste but will put into the project whatever is required. I am in Delta's hands today and hoped to keep up with the action on-line. Still hoping.
