Thanks for the replies The Ogio 9800 looks very well buit. Any issues getting a large piece of luggage like that checked in at the airport?
I can't speak for that particular bag, but no...it shouldnt be. It really depends on how big of dickheads the airline wants to be. There wont be any problems per se...but they might charge you an "oversized luggage" fee. But i have seen people put huge/crazy shit on planes with no problems. That bag really isnt even "big" compared to some of the shit i have seen people bring. I wouldnt think twice about bringing it to the airport as far as size etc. But i would be scared about them losing my $3,000 worth of gear inside. But that is just from my own personal experiences. I am sure there are people out there who have flown for decades and never had a bag lost.
+1...used it going to Europe. It was overweight but oh well. It fit really nice in trains as it go right down the aisle no problem.
Ogio 9800. I have taken mine on about 30 flights, used it for three seasons of indoor supermoto, road racing, trail riding etc and it is holding up very well. I give it two thumbs up!
How about this one? Approximate measurements are 34'' long, 16'' wide, and 17'' high Amazing enough, it's listed in the classifieds. http://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?t=200873&highlight=bag
+1 Shoot Darrin at 314racing an email (see my sig for a link). He got me a supernatural deal on a massive MX bag a while back. He's great at finding deals on that kind of stuff.
About a month after the Olympics bombing in ATL, everyone was talking about how airport security was really tight, etc. At that time I was heavily into paintball, and I had a team that traveled to tournaments. I was flying to a tournament, and I had my big duffel for clothes, and I had a big heavy duty plastic tote packed full with (4) crazy looking paintball guns (maybe menacing if you don't know what they are), several HPA tanks (all empty of course), and a tackle box in which you could find random wires, a few electronic timers, soldering equipment, and about 734 other things that you'd spend about 16 hours having a conversation with the TSA in a cozy room about if you tried to travel with them today. I was afraid that the box might be inspected somewhere mid-stream and get delayed, and not make it to the tournament, so at the ticket counter I pretty much begged them to inspect the tote so that I could clear up any questions ahead of time...said things like "no, really, it's full of stuff that if someone looks in there, they're likely to think it's dangerous." No dice...she couldn't have been more committed to not inspecting the box. Today I wouldn't get that box out of the trunk of my car without an uninvited armed escort.
