Anyone seen or heard of these Strapless stands? They have no brand!!! The guy says he can make spacers for any bike.
There's no brand because he makes them. Goes by "Zeus" on here. Here's mine in a van, works great for good price: These are 2 years old so the current design may have changed.
I just installed the Pit-Bull trailer restraint system in mine, and from the pictures I can tell you that the quality does not compare. Not trying to knock Zeus's stuff, they may be going for considerably less.
I just bought one from www.ststands.com It was at my door in 3 days from Texas. Couldn't be happier. I hear the new pitbull one is more user friendly though.
I'll 2nd www.ststands.com They rule! You can see the article in RRX this week on Troy Green, the Owner of Strapless Transport Stands. Super nice guy. http://www.roadracerx.com/article.php?article_id=736 also there is an article on sport rider site that Andrew Trevitt did reviewing the stands. http://www.sportrider.com/sportbike_product_reviews/146_0711_product_reviews/index.html
Zeus You can find him on the Nesba board in the Mid Central Region. His name is Brent. Goes by Zeus there also.
Hello, I am the one that makes these no name stands. I started making these stands, because I did not like the way the ST stands worked. So I came up with a different way to do it and tried to add a little more versatility to the product. I have just been selling them to friends and word of mouth. Nate actually got one of the first stands I made. I was going to try and make a business of it, but don't have the time to make huge numbers of stands. This is why I never came up with a name or stickers for the stands. By the way the stands are machined from solid 6061 aluminum and stainless steel. I sell the stands sell for $200. The stands can also be used as a rear storage stand in your garage or until you unload your trailer to get your paddock stands out and pit set up. Any more question let me know I will check this tread.
I saw on another forum that you would consider customizing it to fit in a truck bed. Is this the case?
The stand would work with some bracing under the box, but the bike would need to be backed into the truck and stand with the bike facing backwards. Not a real good set in many ways. If you have a 8' box you could get by with using the stands facing forward like normal.
I have an 8' bed, so I am good. One more question, when not using the stand how much mounting hardware is permanently in place?
