Nope......No benifit in R&D if you can't use it in SBK. The 1143cc, 1204cc, and 1242cc GSXR1000 motors we build are primarly for drag racing. They can be configured for road racing but you would have to be seriously crazy, stupid, fast, or all of the above to actually try to race them...... I would like to use one in F1....but we shall see.
Re: Re: Hey Chip Hey shortround... Just out of sheer morbid curiosity, how much rwhp does a 1242 CC GSX-R put down?
Re: Re: Re: Hey Chip Lots.....225+ hp and over 118 ft-lbs is all I am going to say.... Basicly motogp power in a chassis that is not nearly as good as a gp bike. Stupid....
This motor is much cooler..... 3mm GSXR600 motor.....all the goodies......and its for sale.. http://img375.imageshack.us/img375/3135/654copy5oi.jpg Stock: 106 Pipe/PC: 114 Overbore: 132
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Hey Chip I tell you what the bomb is....05/06 GSXR1K 3mm overbore....200hp/95ft-lbs all day long. Power is nice and progressive with a REALLY flat torque curve. This would be the ultimate "affordable" F1 motor. If you had the skills you could slide the bike all the way around just about any race track at will.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Hey Chip Haha! I don't have the skills to slide what horsepower I have now. Maybe someday You and I might need to talk about a motor rebuild at the end of this season though. I will shoot you a PM about it.
