300cc liquid cooled 2 stroke First ride, over heated, blew coolant out of the over flow. Changed to Evans, no issues since. Go to change the oil tonight. The transmission, and engine oil are in the same compartment. Per the manual, and let it idle to temp. Start backing the drain plug out, and BOOM, oil, blows out, everywhere. I'm talking head to toe covered. 12' diameter around me, soaked on the ground. What in the world would cause there to be so much pressure, in the transmission? Blown head gasket? Other? Thanks
Reason #1001 to wear safety glasses, even when there's no apparent danger in the procedure you undertake. Can you imagine having pressure-washed your eyeballs? I don't even wanna think about it.
Does the transmission have a vent? The only other possible culprit would be leak between the engine and the transmission, possibly a bad crank seal?
Has to be the trans vent plugged. Engine and trans in the same compartment...... You were mixing oil in the gas werent you???
You took an influx of formation oil because of an underbalanced situation due to insufficient hydrostatic pressure in the drilling column (typically caused by poor displacement management during tripping operations, contaminated drilling fluids, fluid losses into the formation, or by not strictly adhering to the weight-up schedule based on expected pore pressures). ...but im sure it was BP's fault.
