Oil blow out question

Discussion in 'General' started by eggfooyoung, Jun 14, 2018.

  1. Yes, I do.

No, I am not quoting the movie.

The last line was a jab from a long thread I made regarding the Macondo incident when it happened. Everyone (general public) says the blowout was "BP's fault". I do not agree.

There is a difference between fault and responsibility.

The blowout (and resulting spill) was BP's responsibility because they owned the lease, and Operators are responsible for what happens from the Wellhead and up.

However, in my opinion, the "fault" of the blowout lies on Transocean.

run a pressure test on the engine to determine if you have a leaking crank seal on clutch side or leaking cases, also check transmission vent if it's open there is no way pressure will build in transmission,

    RRP Kinda Superbikey

Someone stole Chris' log in info.

This was succinct, logical and came to an efficient conclusion. In addition, it did not resemble a rant.
