Sorry for your loss. They give you your best day ever, and your worst. Hopefully you got to spread those days a (long) ways apart, with lots of good days in between.
We'll see. I wasn't quite ready yet after Maybel passed but he needed to not be dead at 1 year old more than I needed some more time.
Is this like one of those “be careful what you wish for”, and human lifespans will be dropped to those of doggos? I can get behind that.
Just before Kane-9 crawled over my shoulder, and into my lap, while coming south down CA 23 out of Filmore CA Notice that Stella is not giving the “new comer” much room … from ‘21
A year and half ago, I lost my guy in my Avatar, he lived a good life...at 14, he started having seizures and the last one never stopped so had to put him down...fucked me up something fierce which is why it took so long to get another Ridgeback....completely forgot what having a puppy is like, but just like taking the time to wait until I was ready was a great decision, so was bringing this little pisser home. Last week I looked over and saw him just posturing and laughed out loud....cant believe how fast they grow and change....he's not even 3 months old yet.... Wishing nothing but the best for your daughter and her new guy!
Man, as it is in the other thread on here, losing your pet is waaaay harder than most of us would have ever thought. Cancer got my nearly 14 yr old girl Layla about 2 1/2 yrs ago. I've never even consider another pet thus far. Maybe that'll change, but for now, I haven't given it 2 secs of thought. Just long enough for me to say, 'no damn way'.
It's always tough to deal with them passing but there are just so many that need somewhere good to be. Open the door for another one to have a good life with you.
Just get one, man. This one was "the wrong dog" for every possibile reason. Ten years later, I wouldn't give you a plug nickel for another one like her, but I wouldn't take a million bucks for this one.
one of my favorites of our 140lb 6’ giants… this is at Sonoma/Sears Point/Infineon in 2009… they’re a working breed even if work that day was looking good for the event… this pic got used a bunch for Toyota marketing…
