I was looking at the specs on the last series of FZR400, it showed a weight of 160 kilos (stock?) what is the lightest one can get to? Anyone of the max HP build for one?
So, very open ended question, which chassis/gen, how far are you willing to take the motor, how much are you willing to spend? You could do a 660 stroker build, carbon errythang... have big HP and sub 300lbs but not cheap.
I am asking about the last series/year and 400cc motor only (rules allow for .5mm/.020 max overbore). The spec I saw was for 160 kilos / 320 lbs stock weight, I have also seen 330lbs.
From my old thoughts... The original generation FZR400 could be made to get to the 365-375lbs range. And a high strung overcome engine with exotic carbs... could be made to hit the 75hp mark.
Speedwerks built a 3tj with a bunch of carbon. It was awesome. Maybe Steve will give us some details on it.
At an ASRA weekend, I put my 400 on their scale and it was right at 375, stock tank and full. A hacksaw works wonders
Here's one that Speedworks did. https://get.google.com/albumarchive.../AF1QipMG6qAN7N2XSukM7-qzi-rPd7kq6PzLZZ6D_pkR
If you are looking for some motor parts I have a few that I have no current plans for. A set of fzr400 1mm over new pistons & rings, a lightly used Falicon billet clutch (with complete clutch assy) fzr400 & 600, a lightly used set of RD titanium valve spring retainers fzr400 & 600 & to build a 490, a new set of 4he pistons with good used cylinders. I also have a new big bore kit when used with a 3HE crank will make 719cc.
I fuked around with a 3TJ at 490cc @93 h.p. and just under 300lbs dry of fuel. https://photos.app.goo.gl/K5i2d6YvdienGws29 This one was a bit heavier with a bit less h.p. but one of the best packages ever. Dude rides it every weekend in Cali. https://photos.app.goo.gl/hsU1KLEB16CnaNH4A https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1619585781834844 https://www.facebook.com/john.clint...GfYuPtXmpFDSH9yMdJ1Ce7Cru8xScJy2zgYXukDHU8XYl
oh man I with I still had mine and then I could get a 719cc power plant. Could wake up some foolish track day kids lol. Its just a little old FZR400
My last one I build from a stock roller.... R6 front, Marchesini front, Technomagnesio rear, ZX6R upper and lower, RGV500 replica tail, YZF tank, Hindle, SPA tach, 33mm FCR carbs, HFD1 tuning Oh and one of my paint jobs
Not mine...but I believe that one ended up in Jackson, MI for a very short period of time about 12 years or so ago...I do believe I remember seeing it in a friend's living room (most of his bikes spent some time in there...lol) and then it moved on to who knows where? Regards, Chad
