I still need to run wires to the rear channels. I left the rear speakers there to hear them as front channel speakers, they sound terrific as mains. The sub will go into the right corner, for better bass extension.
Simple two channel with sub....Emotiva pre/pro 300x2, older Oppo One year old Denon AVR for home theater, lower end, sounds ok. Sounds great for 2 channel, plenty of power. That Emo (XPA-2 Gen 2) is also a 1000 watt mono block. Been looking for another. Awesome amp for $600 or so. Could use a better pre...maybe even a tube. There's a lot of wood floor, and nothing added for absorption. I'd love to hear it inside a good treated room.
I'm kicking around building a two channel set up. Just starting the research but it'll be based around a turntable and an Oppo (absolutely kills my Denon reference CD/ DVD). I was thinking a simple Rotel 2 channel but then I see something new and shiny and go full audio nerd.
Many ways to go for 2 channel. I'll always have a CD player, too expensive for me to start new with a TT and albums. Not really interested in streaming. I did add a cool little Bluetooth audio connector to the pre (Audio Engine) doesn't sound as good as a CD though. I recently heard what a DAC can do even connected to a higher end Oppo, made a considerable improvement. Yea.....easy to go full retard.
