woof... I can just hear the bratty gals on the play ground asking if I got my sneaks at Tom McAn (in a jersey drawl) I never owned Jordans but did have some colorful adidas basketball high tops that were red, white & blue. And some brown reeboks with the velcro undone...lol
Single Mom of three. I got one pair of shoes a year. Sneakers, that I wore everyday, I paid for cutting grass around the neighborhood. I started that chore in first grade. Baseball, football gear, same deal, work for it.
Tough to make shoe money on a dirt road with one neighbor (whose yard I did cut and bushes I did trim) but I'm glad it worked for you.
Bunch of chicks up in here worrying about color of shoes and wearing white before memorial day or after labor day!!
Did you get the pair of PF Flyers with the secret spy ring included? I remember having those, and the little plastic ring with the secret compartment that was big enough to hold a bb if you wanted to smuggle one.
You’re my era. Freshman: Converse All Stars-leather w/blue accents. Sophomore: Stan Smiths. Junior/Senior: Nike Legend low-cuts. Can’t imagine wearing these at my age and NOT being heckled like a NB senior.
I hear ya. Always some kid that’s got it tougher than you. I knew a few like that. I consider myself lucky for my opportunities.
I had to wear sneakers from K Mart. The sole was made of plastic. You could take a pen and fill in the patterns on the bottom of the shoe. For some reason, we always referred them as K Mart "Buddies."
Dude, get a pair of Jack Purcells. Hipsters have driven the prices up but they are comfortable and look awesome in white.
