I was gonna say the Rio Grande Valley down in Tx grows Vidalias. IIRC it caused a little bit of an issue with the field workers when it was introduced in the early 1990s as they got paid by the basket and since it was a little smaller onion than what they were picking previously they had to pick more onions for each basket. Pick more, same pay. It is amazing how sweet they get when sautéed etc. Good to use for grunge onions.

Better than a ruby red from Texas? Although two bad cold spells have really put a dent into Texas citrus production, But a ruby red from Texas is like candy. It’s hard to beat.

They taste good and they keep well. You can also use them on salads, with desserts etc. My kids like them. They'll take one out of the fridge, rat bite half then leave them on the floor. Just like overgrown squirrels.
