Thanks for the heads up on Cigars International. I received this yesterday...an excellent smoke! https://www.cigarsinternational.com/p/5-vegas-gold-mega-sampler-samplers/1474392/#p-126631
Yeah 5Vegas was my go to many years ago ... the blends have changed a bit, the gold isnt quite as buttery as it was. Now Diesel is my go to brand... the new Rabbit Hole smoke is AMAZING! Going to take a few with me when we visit the distillery in a couple weeks for a cool photo-op lol
Here in Germany, I buy Cuban cigars (cheap!). They are addictive as hell. I actually tried to quit recently, then I realized - I don’t want to
yeah, a friend of mine is always risking the 100k penalty bringing those over either from germany or mexico... edit: seems like it has been updated for personal use. https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/de...sion/L3RpbWUvMTU2MzU2NzQ4Ny9zaWQvMVdQd0M5a28= look like i will be buying some COHIBAS in Queretaro ...
Yes, you can bring them in. Just can’t buy them in the US. I always bring several boxes when I visit the US, so if you want a handful of real Montecristos (that’s what I bring), let me know
Mongo said he doesn't have cedar wood for paneling a homemade humidor to which I replied I can supply some old cigar boxed that would do the trick (depending on size). I should find a picture of the outside of my old walk in cooler. Box materials from a who's who list of go-to puros. Phil -- I can send you a couple well-aged Cohiba Churchills if you promise to pick Tito to finish first at Sachsenring
Ranking what I have in my humidor right now: 1. Oliva Serie V Melanio 2. My Father Le Bijou 1922 3. Flor De Las Antillas by My Father 4. Rocky Patel Decade 5. All of the others
Given that I know almost nothing about cigars, I was at a bit of a loss as to what I should try. I have had several Dominican cigars that I enjoyed, so based on a very strong position of ignorance, I ordered a Dominican sampler pack from Thompson cigars. So far I have been very happy with most of them except 1. It was fine to start with but got kinda harsh about half way down. I think I will develop some expertise in Dominican cigars and then branch out from there. I smoke them so infrequently, that this project will take me a while.
