Have a customer looking to put a set on his Ninja 650. Hey, it's his money The problem is the the sprocket mount would need to be machined down near 5mm. Of course Brocks advises against it. But without seeing one up close I can't say one way or the other.
Yep, had them on a couple of bikes. Loved them. Unless they've changed, the bolt pattern for the sprockets is the same as a ZX-10 (IIRC).
Maybe look into swapping the swing arm to a bike that has the wheel available for? if machining the wheel goes wrong it will be very expensive.
Many have tried and failed. Looks like it's a moot point now. Thought the guy was doing a show or race bike. He bent both wheels in a crash and though Carbon is a better choice.
BST won't assist with wheel mods... depending on the exact wheel you're looking at, it does look like there is plenty of meat in the sprocket carrier to cut it down some? What model rear wheel are you looking at using?
tell him to have the original wheels straightened and then apply a carbon look through water transfer paint. BSTs on a 650 are pearls before swines on the road.
Why you gotta crush that poor guy’s dreams? You wanna hear swine before sewage, I just passed a truck on the road with mailbox letters on the back glass, crooked as fuck: “ANIMAL F L A BEAST” Good to see people keeping W*A*S*P lyrics alive 35 years later
