    The cost is a big part of the issue. The dirt stuff is all significantly cheaper. I'll spend $2,700 on track fees alone next year, and that's WITH a bulk discount from my local provider. Getting to the track is a whole 'nother deal that is daunting to a lot of people.

    LOL it is a shit ton of work to prep for the track. I realize this now that I have kids. I wonder how I had so much time for bike prep / maintenance / loading up. That's not even mentioning the cost to get there and be at the track for the weekend. BUT YOU KNOW WHAT!?!?! IT'S WORTH IT GOD DAMN IT!

    I didn't start serious track work until the kids were off on their own. I made decent coin as an engineer but there was no way I could track it with kids in college. Even as it was I still did the camping thing for the first few years.

    I already have my IMS tickets purchased AND I’m taking a fellow rider who’s never been to a motorcycle race of any sort. Everyone needs to step it up!

    I had a seven year stretch between work, nesba, and racing where I was at a track @35 weekend per year on average. Basically three weekends every month. I had no life. :D

    I'll be hitting IMS and PittRace as well. Usually do one a year, but with the proximity plan to do both next season. My father in law always comes with me, and I'm still working on dragging a few more people out with us.

    I agree with the insurance being ridiculous . I remember being 18 buying my first brand new bike (Ninja 650) and paying 100 bucks a month all year for that bike plus a 220 dollar payment. At the time that was more then what I paid for insurance for my truck.
