Dread Zeppelin has some pretty good, but well hidden skills too.

And now I'm trying to remember an Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode about Rush, but my memory is failing.

The Rush trio are some incredible musicians and Neil writes great lyrics and books for a HS drop out. But I have to admit Geddy's voice is an acquired taste and some people just don't have a sophisticated enough palate to appreciate.

OK, I couldn't really type that last sentence with a straight face.

 

Been to every Rush concert from 2112 to Hold Your Fire. Also a fan of Yes. Wife likes (or tolerates) both. Getty's voice is definitely not what it used to be.

It’s sad to see that the Genius that is Rush is soooo far over so many of your heads.

No worries though, you just keep listening to Maroon 5 ...

Couple of references in ATHF. One has Zak Wilde and Shake re-write the birthday song, with Geddy assisting. He flies in on his Fly By Night Bass Guitar jet for his cut.

Neal Peart is in the movie. ATHFCMFFT. He is a microdrummer for Water Melon. He does his own voice in the movie.

 

We had one kid in my high school that was some sort of Rush fanatic, he wore the same stupid Rush t-shirt with out fail every week, sometimes twice in a week for the 2 years he was there. He smelt like cheese, had a sort of permed Mullet hairdo, really thick glasses. He used to chew the shit outta his fingernails.

Neil Peart might be one of the finest drummers ever but seriously Fuuuuck Rush. That dudes voice is fucking painful.

discover I couldn't drive a nail,or walk on a roof without falling off,or shooting myself with a nail gun.(true story)
Rush was a staple on job site radios,back when lowly white guys built shit (pre-mextican).

Yea.....we had one of those kids too..Chris Jones,no shit,guy wore that shirt every day,and stayed in his dark room after school playing nothing but Rush.
We only went to his house cause he had a bitchin pool and 2 sisters.

 

Rush is alright. I grew up listening to it cuz the parent's liked the oldies station....so I am not offended when I hear it.

But sometimes I just wanna Lay It Down with some Ratt.
