Small claims court is generally for matters $5k or less, no? It sounds like you were shafted out of more than that, but a $5k settlement and Chip's offer can get you a whole lot closer to what you thought you were buying.

Senior just shafted you big time. The least that you can do is inconvenience him a bit and recover some of your losses.

In all seriousness, I commend your patience in this situation. Now that you have the facts, it's time to right some wrongs.

I don't think the seller and OP ever entered into marital bliss to begin with.

Britt, would that frame be repairable?

Seeing as some of the third party contacts have asked me to handle this, maybe some more gas from a legal lead couldnt hurt this bonfire.

I have fixed waaaaaay worse, that are still rolling around the track.
Looks like it was ran too fast and lost integrity, or the wire slowed up while the robot kept moving.. Dont know how it passed visual inspection.

I'm not sure but that sounds right. I guess the question is can he recover more than that after fees if he gets a lawyer involved. If nothing else wasting the sellers time and having him appear in court might make small claims worth it.

So it's possibly a manufacturer issue and not due to a crash? I suppose using the bike for racing voids any warranty claim that would apply to a titled street bike in a case like this.

Nah, I turned this crap off and tried to get some sleep. Didn't work great but was better than staying on here.

I have mad props for engine builders. I think most here have a lot of integrity. I say that because the one time I called a SV rider out for walking my "stupid fast" SS SV down the backstraight at Road Atlanta, the first PM I received was from the engine builder of said rider telling me about the two engines he'd built for him. One being a very fast superbike engine. I didn't lose to that guy the next time I raced him at Road Atlanta either. :D

Evidently the bike sustained a high side crash at Daytona per the old rider.
