This has got to be a joke that's gone on too long. The frame is cracked. I mean fucking really? On a $12K motorcycle, no less? Id be suing somebody's ass on principle alone.
I wonder if there are any well-respected journalists who frequent this board. Maybe someone who doesn't shy away from shining a light on malfeasance, who'd be willing to do a little digging and then run a blurb about this on his website and in his paper mag...
I normally keep away from threads like this but is common practice for supposedly well respected engine builders to supply a "cheater motor?"
Knowingly? Depends on the morals of the builder but at the end of the day if his customer asks for something his job is to deliver it. Not police what someone will do with said motor after it leaves his shop. Now if Vesrah showed up at the track and were caught with engines that are illegal for the classes in which they are running that would be a completely different situation.
You could run such an engine in a couple of classes legally. A builder's job is to build an engine to a customer's spec. It's up to the customer to do the right thing and only run such a motor in classes where it's legal. The builder has no control over that.
Why wouldn't they? Their business is building motors. What the motor is used for is none of their concern.
The fact that the builder apparently described it as a "cheater" motor kind of gave me the impression that they knew what it was going to be used for.
That's true but keep in mind it might just have been a expression. Trying to be a devils advocate here....
