I've been doing that for over 10 years and I was late to the party. :D Pawnshops, estate sales and all that shit. :D

Did it for shot guns, guitars and watches but now everyone that can spell Rolex or Gibson does it.

I do it for cufflinks...you can get them for 5 bucks what will cost you 200bucks at a store. not an investment, just something l like.

I also do it for motorcycles. that is how i ended up with my indian 4.

One of the main investment people left out are cars....I wont divulge too much...but there is money to be made in cars. I make more on cars than i do real estate.

we do payday loans, other types of small loans, and check cashing. Never really thought about insurance.

From what I see on cable, even the spelling isn't required. (example: storage wars)

I thought about them but your 1 year limit is the tough part.

You really can't do the modern "classics" like the NSX, S2000, 8C or upcoming like the 4C, Hellcat because you still have years (decades?) until they are making a profit.

Classics like the E Type, the 60s Ferraris, the 60s 'vettes and those are all top of the mark right now and I think, maxed out.

You could do the export or SUVs and luxury cars to Russia, the middle east and south america but I don't know the people to make it happen profitably and not losing my shirt (and all the cars). Plus the gooberment is eye balling this market pretty close.

    No Fat Chicks.

Fitness based clean meal fast food & shake spot strategically positioned across the street from every golds gym I could afford to put one in. Bulking/maintenance/cutting menus. All offering meal prep delivery based on the menu. Harsh but true signs posted all over the walls like "we don't offer gluten free bullshit, we serve real food"

Kind of like a wahoos for the fitness/diet minded

I have a cousin who imports cars to the ME...too much competition...the eastern european car market has been taken over by the albanian mafia when it comes to car

anybody who sold their S2000 within the last 2-3 years (like me, zoran i think)
are kicking themselves...while not a huge profit, they are selling for more now than what they cost now....a friend just sold a s2000cr for 52k!

I deal with exotics and grey market cars as a hobby.
one of the best cars to have invested 10-15 years ago would be d90, d110 rovers.
the classic ferraris are maxed out. the e types have been maxed out.
the c2 vettes will be maxed out.

the market right now is for the late 80s and early 90s exotics.
a 1991 nsx would be a good investment.
a 348 challenge would be the best investment ever (last street legal ferrrai race car)
fd rx7s will go up pretty soon.
the last aircooled porsches are going for a good penny now also...I think most 993 turbos have doubled in value within the last 2 years.

but not a single one will even compete with my miura when it comes to investments. Bought it new for less than an aventador costs....same one as mine (same color as mine, same year, but mine has more options) sold for 6 million pounds last weekend. :D

Really, we should be asking you this question. Your family is in a bunch of business's, which ones are the most lucrative?

One year time frame doesn't bode well to buying a business and getting out IMO. You are in hotels, can a hotel be renovated and have a hugh increase in value, in that short of a time frame?

Seems like flipping high end houses would be the only thing possible in such a short time.

I know it is stock, but what do you think about Alibaba?

I wasnt asking because of i was looking to invest...I was just looking at "outside the box ideas"

Hotels turn around costs too much to make it a profitable flip. You also cannot get them cheap as the realestate they sit on are worth so much

I dont know much about alibaba, but i see it as good market for getting products in and out that might not be too mainstream and to get generic products at a discount to combat monopolies.
