http://weraclassifieds.com/ads/2000-r6-and-parts/#axzz38rtukeAT No room for it at the new house. Get a jump on the proposed V8 class.
Holy smokes! That's a hell of a deal. We're in the middle of trying to secure a new home which will be followed by a big move. Otherwise I'd jump on that bike. Good luck with sale. Shouldn't take long. Lucky bastard that gets it.
Hell of a deal. The only thing that would most likely need to be changed over are the forks. I doubt the '05+forks with radial calipers will be allowed. Good luck with sale. I'm sure it won't last long.
I thought SB rules associated with vintage would allow this. I haven't read up in the rule book lately.
They would, all that tech was available at the time - hell it's all been available since long before even V6 years.
so that R6 is "V8" legal (when/if that class comes into existence) but it would be disqualified from C super stock?
Due to unforeseen circumstances I can't buy tins right now. GREAT deal and a perfect example of the bikes out there for V8. Tom is as nice as they come guy and knows everything about this bike.
I ran the same set of forks on my FZR400 in V6LW, its legal. Just like Sean said, the technology was available..
that's awesome. all these years people have been saying that radial calipers weren't legal for V7. maybe that was just a gentleman's agreement?
It's seems so. That was actually my question when wanting to purchase it. But Tom and I came to the same conclusion as what Mongo just said.
New (smaller) house and too many un-used toys. I hate to think what I have in all of it. The pictures in the add don't quite show all of it. I can still get the whole package down to VIR this weekend as well. Bike has done .9's at Nelson and .59's at BeaveRun. Motor is stock, but the chassis is sorted.
Yes, assuming the V8 rules will follow the V7 rules. From the rulebook: V 7 machines must run the stock frame. Modernized bodywork may be used to incorporate a required belly pan. V7 machines are run per Superbike rules in Chapter 9.
