So what happens when 1/2 the southern dates get canceled because Atlanta is not built and won't be on time.
Simple, we just run all the rest of our Southern dates same as we are going to do anyway. We have a great Southern schedule, it will just be even better with AMP for 2011. No way I can explain all the details on something like this, it would take waaaay too long. Lets just look at it like this: We heard a new track was being built in Georgia, we inquired about it, the owner told us everything looks good for 2011, and says is STT interested in coming here, we say hell yes we are, owner than says great, would STT commit to "X" amount or more days then? We go investigate the track and facilities, everything looks good, we say again, hell yes and we commit. Could this become another Bluegrass fiasco? I suppose it could, but I don't think it will and for all of us, lets hope not. We are in constant communication with the owner and they are working as fast as they can to get it completed by our March date, If not maybe we don't get in till April, but you know what? When it gets done, we got dates:up: Please relax and lets all keep our fingers crossed that everything will work out the way it should and we will have a new track to ride on in 2011
I have been in constant contact with the owner of AMP since mid 2007, great project with tons of potential and a very stand up ownership. If it isn't ready by March then it'll be longer and worth the wait IMO. As Mark pointed out, even without AMP the schedule is pretty nice.
Bluegrass 'would' have been cool also. One day it might still be. But as someone that put Bluegrass in my plans this time I am a skeptic. But mindless distrust is not good so I actually drove up and took a look. Well they have done a ton of work on earth moving and setup. The general layout of the land looks to be gorgeous. The solar sign looks , sorry I am not a global warming victim. But there is not a single building or bit of blacktop yet. Further they could run this year if funding and stuff continues to be on track. BUT I am willing to put my money where my mouth is on March. I will bet a track day that they will NOT run in March. You heard me. I will PAY full price for a day if the event runs on time in March. Of course if I am correct then I expect a day at Barber for the last event of the year. Ready to accept that bet?
There is a ton of threads on the schedule all over the place so I'm sure it just got missed in this one. Answer given elsewhere is that they are being finalized with the tracks and should be posted soon!
I am sorry we cannot please everybody in our little sport of having fun on motorcycles. We are doing the best that we can as is the owner of AMP to get us on track in March, but as I said we are happy to have a new track coming in 2011 and can't wait to burn some laps on it So no we cannot take your bet, but even if the track is not quite ready to go in March, life goes on and we still get to ride motor-cycles on racetracks all over the U.S.A. and AMP soon after. What more can we ask for........
