Old sweat socks zip-tied to the throttle bodies! Seriously, kinda depends on the bike. DNA's seem to make good power on most, BMC seems rated over K&N....this is kinda like an "which oil is best" question though.
I crashed at Roebling once and that fine white beach sand saturated the outside of my big K&Ns but not the inside:up:
We use K&N in all our stuff....and I have been to their facility and it is impressive....but it isn't a performance gain. The K&N is stuff is better at keeping crap out of your motor and its easier to keep clean.....and clean is better for performance.
K&N here too ... actually I just got a new K&N that is now race spec. Not exactly sure when they were released ... here's the link to their new sales sheet with the info. Are you using these now Chip?
hahahha...god so true!! We need to start a collection of racer air filter pics...now that its the end of the season...wow..some of these things...really guys?? personally i like oem and bmc's..bmc's imo fit better than K&N's and like KN you can clean/reuse often easily.
Looks like the difference with the new k n filter is fewer "lines". 17 on the race filter compared to 20 on the standard. The bmc has 19. I wonder if you will se a gain on a dyno vs the 2 others.
I've used Pipercross and BMC. In terms of quality and fit the BMC is head and shoulders above Pipercross.
