I just read on another forum that he was riding the #54 Buell 1125 from Latus motors, which is the same bike Alan Schmidt road last year. All the results on mylaps that I've seen him in, he's on the #54. What class did he ride a KTM in? What number is it?
Rapp...good on the Buell Knapp...fast on the Ducati Solis...dragging elbow already on the Graves R6 Higbee...aggressive as hell on the R6 Photos to come
No. But he did have a film crew with 3 or 4 camera men plus a sound guy w/ boom mic following him around (his was pitted at the opposite end of our garage) I've had a 'sneak peak' of some of those (Brandon not only saved us garage spaces but he also worked off of whatever surface was available there throughout the weekend whenever he wasn't trackside shooting). The shot of Solis draggin' elbow is sick!
Oh jeezus... I forgot to mention the sling that he was wearing on Sunday and would have to 'dramatically' take off and be assisted into his leathers (on camera) while getting ready for his next race. Not to downplay a possible injury but this looked to have been well overplayed for TV. Afterall, he seemed to be able to race just fine...
The guy likes racing . Plenty of well off guys race. They shouldn't be treated different. Him and Tori could bankroll a MotoGP effort or 10. Can't believe they don't own an AMA team. The "show" is good for the sport. I hope it brings some new folks to the track.
That's where I'm a little conflicted. I know what you are saying and I agree about the benefits of bringing some 'popularity' to the sport. But still... For those that struggle and toil to go racing it seems so 'artificial'. In all due respect, of course. Speaking of which... I saw the guy with the big hat out there this weekend. But I didn't want to interrupt the enjoyment that he must have been having with his own son out there kicking ass & taking names.
