Dani went wide? How on earth do you see that in the video? Watch the line that DeAngelis is on coming through there. If Dani hadn't of become the berm for him, he would have blown right out to the end of the candy stripes. Watch the trajectory of DA's bike. Dani may have been off a bit but in no way was that his fault. The only defense for DA on this one is that it looks like maybe Dani got a bit offline and rolled out of it a bit. That could have set up DA for what happened. There, I have become neutral on it.................lol
You are looking at just this clip, right? Watch the full race or the clip through the turn in full and come back with the same certainty that you show on this post.
I do think that De Angelis was a total jerk for not giving him a wave/foot out. Even when you think something's not your fault, if you hit someone let 'em know it wasn't intentional.
Watched the race. Saw the clips from the front and behind. Thats my opinion and I'm sticking to it. You can stick to yours too!
Fair enough After more review, watch the clean line that Vermulan is on. He is not challenging anyone so his line is completely clean coming off that corner. Now watch DA by comparison. His bike is way out of line to the Suzuki showing that he was blowing way wide on the exit. Either he got fixated on Pedrosa or he was trying to get a big drive off the corner. IMHO again of course.
One the BBC coverage on the race, they harped on the fact that something seemed to be wrong, or something went wrong, with Pedrosa's bike at the time. He seemed to just slow down compared to DeAngelis, and DeA closed on him VERY quickly. Maybe it was an illusion from the line DeA took, but it did seem he closed on Pedrosa quickly. Tough to tell from this picture.
The "slow" cornering and sudden decelerations on corner entry/mid-turn were one part of Pedrosa's unpredictability I observed during the race. He just seemed off. From what I've seen, he's usually quite precise - whether you love him or hate him. But, De Angelis still should've given him a wave, even if it was just for pity.
Pudrosa set the precedent for blaming the punted rider. The only thing I see wrong with that pass is that DeAngelis didn't use him as a berm on corner entry, punting Pudrosa off the track completely, then blaming Pudrosa for slowing and getting in his way. THAT would be karma.
i think we need a .gif of the vermulan line.... to compare!! I don't care either way, just want to see more KOOL ASS .gif's
That's a weak argument. DeA should already know that Pedrosa sucks and would push wide. DeA was making the pass not Pedro. He has to plan for Pedrosa's lack of skill... like passing any other backmarker.
