FYI..... Just looked into some packages, and looks like PIT/PADDOCK passes are VIP only like at most other GP rounds outside the US....may NOT be the case, but the VIP packages are the only mention of paddock passes
as far as hotels, i was thinking close to the track would be best but that is based on my perception of the traffic problems at laguna and my only other other large sporting event experience at talladega(nascar not the other one!) i hate traffic jams. then again,if anyone can move alot of traffic indy probably can. would it be hard to get to the track from downtown indy on race day?
I've been to the F1 race there every year. Traffic is no problem getting in if you get there early each day. Leaving Fri and Sat was also no problem. There's a jam leaving Sunday, but I sat around having a couple of beers for about an hour afterwards....then, clear sailing. I stay in a hotel off of I-465 south of town.
sounds like the nice hotels downtown will work then. i wonder how much bigger the motogp race will be than f1
Traffic is not much of an issue, you do have to take in mind that this will be a large event and there will be a backup but indy is used to this type of stuff. Downtown is nice as well as the hotels by the airport which is not to far from the track.
OK so I join the frey, I just applied for my passes. Motogp, fresh Skyline Chili and LaRosas Pizza and and and I can drive there. I can't wait.
Skyline, LaRosa's... mmmmmm, 4-way bean! I eat there about three days a week in Fairfax. Skyline is 10 times better than goldstar, hands down.
