I just picked up a 94 ninja 250 and I need some info on how to upgrade the forks and shock (cheap) !!! Its a stock bike with a full Muzzy and it feels like it set up for an 80 lb rider !! All info is welcome but no "slaws a Pu$$y " for getting a ex please !!! It was really cheap and I could not help myself .
Oooh, not sure on a 2-fiddy. I know on the 500 you can use an F2 front end, but not sure on the smaller bike.
What kind of shock did you put on it ?? I know the 500 shock will fit on the 250 and an sv 650 shock will fit !!!
Check out www.ninja250.net they've got a lot of good articles over there. Congrats on the little Ninjer, BTW, they're a lot of fun to ride!
Be very sure you keep the bushings cause you gotta put them in the SV shock. Have fun!! is all I can say....be careful, it can get ugly real quick using a press.
EX500 shocks (including AM FOX and Ohlins, etc) fit without any fuss. That should be more than enough for a street two fitty. On the front end. Most just stiffen the springs, add thicker oil and maybe emulators. The danger with going to heavier forks and beefier front wheel is that the increased traction can overwhelm the frame, leading to all kinds of twisted fun if you push it too hard.
+1. Peruse or ask the same question on the AFM race BBS. They've got a 250 Production class that is made up entirely of EX250's. http://www.afmracing.org/ They're fun bikes to thrash the crap out of. Enjoy!
Ya know those times at parties when someone yells something really embarassing or stupid right as the music stops?
Doin' good, my man! I've got a SR500 to build up and play with. Yes, I managed to find something with even less HP than a GS! (er, but not less than an EX250). Adam's doing great. He's a good lookin' kid, which means he's taking after his Mom.
Cute kid. SRs are fun little bikes. I have a MB50 waiting to be atteneded to. It is the mini-world's equivelent of the GS. LOL!
