I have a 21 ZX6R and over the last 6 months the LCD display on the dash has started disappearing. It started out with just the fuel gauge and has progressed to the majority of the dash. Has anyone had a similar issue? I took it apart and didn’t not notice anything obvious. Anyone know of a small electronic place that may be able to fix it? Also, does anyone know if the mileage is stored in the ECU or on the dash with this bike?
We had a connection problem on 2013. Bike was wrecked and the gauges were replaced but the connector was pretty mangled. It worked for while and then would get screwy. Just had to straighten out some pins, some grease and push it back in real hard and works now.
I checked all the pins in both sides of the connector and everything looks straight. I applied some dielectric grease and made sure it was fully seated when I connected it and I’m still having the same issue. I’m pretty sure it’s either the LCD screen itself or the wiring to the screen on the circuit board. Anyone know if the mileage data is stored in the dash or in the ECU? Also, is anyone aware of a plug and play solution for an aftermarket dash for this bike? I know AIM makes a kit for the ZX10 but don’t see anything for the 6.
