I would burn that house down, just for the knockdown finish on the drywall. I'm sure that shower seemed like a cool idea, until they realized you can't clean it, and it holds water. I can smell the mildew from here.

i saw that the other day and laughed. what blows me away isn't the whiskey collecting, of which i know 3-4 dudes that do that, but the fact that its RIGHT next to the front door and is the first thing any visitor is greeted with haha

I kinda like it. You can spray a cleaner on the stones, takes off anything. I am a Texan, so there is that.

Fuggin property taxes are less than $2k a year! Here in central NJ, you would be looking at all least $10k a year!

I saw that and something is off? I still own the first house I ever bought and it’s about 15 miles from this place. My place is worth less and the taxes have been going up and didn’t have a significant drop like this place shows. However, If you live there you get a homestead deduction of up to 100k on accessed value.

    My taxes per Zillow.
    Year Property taxes Tax assessment
    2023
    $5,844 +7.4% $342,363 +16.9%
    2022 $5,443 +12.8% $292,750 +18.1%
    2021 $4,827 +5% $247,959 +8.4%
    2020 $4,596 +2.3% $228,796 +1.9%
    2019 $4,491 +13% $224,636 +17.1%
    2018 $3,974 +14.1% $191,784 +20.4%
    2017 $3,484 $159,289 -3.6%

you would choke if you saw the tax bill on a SFD in North Jersey... roughly $2200/month.

Zillow is way off. Here's the actual Dallas County Appraisal website for that property.

North Jersey dude... a burb of NYC. Oh and the coppers get paid 6 figs for lowly patrol positions, 24/7 parking authority, garage sale ordinances, 911 calling Karens, and of course the school systems...lol. What short term memories people have about taxation. To be modest middle class you need a combined income of $750k /year.
