Your favorite STREET bike?

Two friends, both former track guys, bought sportbikes (one bought a 1000 & one bought a 600) as street bikes. Both traded them within a year or so, citing awful ergos for casual & country road riding (i.e. not trackdays). Both are now riding MTs (one on an MT09 & the other on an MT07). Both couldn’t be happier with their choice.
That got me thinking, scary; i know. What is your favorite STREET bike and why? I’ve recently fallen back in love with my FJR after getting the suspension sorted.
What say the beeb for their favorite STREET bikes?

Ducati Monster just does everything well and you can be on it all day. 600cc sportbikes make terrible street bikes. They are gutless down low and only start getting fun above 8-10,000 rpms. Plus bad ergos.
Torque, higher bars, same great handling and brakes equals fun street bike.

It used to be an SV650 standard. But, if odometers tell no lies, a Honda Monkey is my favorite thing to ride for some years now.

I have a first year FZ-09 (orange) that is my usual go-to bike. Truth be told though, my 1985 FJ1100 has the most miles when it's running well...(GD carbs are a bitch).

Aprilia Tuono. Stupid torque, the V4 sound, buttery smooth qs, comfort…..ohlins suspension….the forged wheels makes it a ‘lively’ ride

I loved my Nighthawk 750 in blue, that thing ran forever. I sold it to a buddy who sold it to a buddy, it stayed in the 'family' for probably 80,000mi and just kept going. It was a great all-arounder, and even handled 2-up well.

But, my Superduke R Evo is by far the most fun I've had on a street bike. Comfy, gobs of tq, electronic suspension you can adjust on the fly, its just great in almost every aspect!

My ZRX1200 is still my favorite. It doesn’t get ridden near as much anymore though, most days the R1300GS gets the call, does everything so well, just doesn’t have that smooth four cylinder sound and power.
My ZX-14 is my second favorite, it has a proper amount of power and handles nicely. Plus looks are on point.

Kinda odd the most expensive bike in the bunch is considered the consumable and gets used more…

I wish I knew because I get something different about every six months. But of them all, probably the favorite was my 1st Gen 900RR.

My 1997 Ducati 900SS-SP does it all for me. Beautiful yellow paint, comfortable ergos, usable torque, wonderful handling, powerful brakes and the termies at full honk are just pure music! Throw in the rattle of the dry clutch and it's just how a motorcycle should sound.

Love me my ‘22 MT10 with its quick shifter/auto blipper and that cross plane crank sound! A bit tall and heavy for me in my declining years, though

I bought one of the original FZ09s that came out for the 2014 model year.....number 43 in the US. Going in, I knew it was a monster motor in the torque category and was lightweight, but the suspension was crap. Within about 6 months of ownership I had the suspension sorted out with new stuff, a full Arrow exhaust system and an ECU flash, and had figured out a way to swap it to the GP shift pattern, just like my track bikes. I now have a GSX-S1000GT and in looking back, the FZ09 was definitely one of the most fun bikes for street usage that I've ever owned....bar none. I'm riding the GT now because age has made me want more rider comforts.....like electronic cruise control, detachable hard bags, etc. The FZ09, when modded up with decent/good suspension and a set of tires that are more for "stick" than mileage, is definitely a sleeper as far as riding in the mountains and twisty stuff. No, it's not a hard core sportbike, but my aging body doesn't like hard core sportbike riding positions anymore, so I'm very happy with the Suzuki GT+.

An FJ has been on my list to add to the collection, but I've got enough carbs to deal with as it is... Never got to ride one.

Definitely gotta be my 08 hypermotard 1100s. The most fun bike I've ever ridden. Not really fast, but agile, sounds great, all analog. Dosen't get any better for me, and goddamn it's sexy!

My Tiger 800XCx, with modified suspension, is my favorite street bike I’ve owned. I’ve done multiple 600mi days on it, including multiple trips to Deals Gap area, and many 2-up days.

The Tiger 900GT is my favorite, all-round street bike, currently on the market. For a sportier street bike, it would be a toss up between the MT-10 or Street Triple.

Many of the owners in the VFR group I’m in have bought Tiger variants, over the last several years, as their regular riders.

Depends on what you want out of a street bike. Long distance touring, ADV, city street riding, Starbucks cool? All of my bikes are technically street legal, but there is a world of difference between Dnepr 650, CRF450RL, and SuperDuke GT. And what is your budget? Gen 1 FZ1 will make a great bike for little coin.

IMHO Concours 14 is a much better bike than a FJR. Had both. Tiger 800 was very good for street miles. Latest touring street bike is SuperDuke GT, so far very positive impression but stock seat had to go immediately. Was on the fence between MT-10 (small tank got that choice dismissed), H2 SX (wasn't one available), Tracer 9 (couldn't past how ugly it was), and SuperDuke GT. Looks of which I also had to get past. I would imagine some of the BMW's are very nice. Suzuki 1000 GT+ is probably good, but I am not a fan of the brand in general.
