Flattery will get you everywhere. Lolol I remember the first and only girl that used that line on me. Needless to say I scored some Minnesota delight in the twin cities that night, as well as follow up visits. Still have fond memories of Lake Minnetonka, Fletchers and Excelsior. First time in my life I had ever been in a large fancy home. Those women are pretty forward up there @pickled egg
Nah, it's 100% a phenomenon. It was very noticeable when I moved to CO. 40/50+ guys are in much better shape than in Iowa on average.
That makes sense. My wife and I noticed when we were back to my hone in Illinois over the summer to drag race, how many people we saw were large and out of shape. Plus even 30 years ago at a high school reunion, lots of the girls in my graduating class looked grandmotherly already.
Just returned home from a trip and happened to notice the same thing navigating through DFW and then to IND. I think I understand now why so many people grow up in the Midwest then leave. It’s a great place for raising families etc.. But damn does it get depressing after 40
I agree, but DFW has more hot chicks than most places I've ever been.....at least I always thought that for many years. However, that weekend out in NYC two weeks ago, has me questioning my previous beliefs? Previously I thought Texas chicks were the hottest anywhere, even including California. I think I have to give NYC the nod, but I rarely hang out in the clubbing, fancy parts of Hollywood/LA, which could cause a reevaluation? But stunners are everywhere in Manhattan! I don't remember seeing that anywhere here in S. Cal, or in DFW. I used to brag about the quality ladies in Texas. I will say, at least in the 80's, the hot chicks in Dallas where much easier to have fun with, versus an average chick in S. Cal. I'm guessing that could still be true, because that southern charm is so nice.. Especially when compared to having a LA chick asking to see your W2 or wanting to know what kind of car you drive.
Interesting - Ducati launched the new V2, V2S, and Streetfighter V2 today. Horsepower is down to 120 and less torque accordingly. But... Weight is sub 400 and the bike lapped within .6 seconds of the outgoing models best time.
Ain't no god damn way. You mean to tell me the bike is 35lbs lighter (which is a lot, I'll admit) and makes 40fewer hp and laps the track the same time? Must've been a kart track or a 'novice trackday rider' or some other asterisk. The current 955cc v2 is a weapon, I'm not saying there's no room for improvement, but stealing 40hp from it isn't going to result in the same laptime unless something revolutionary has changed otherwise.
According to this article, the lap time was recorded at Vallelunga circuit where the new bike was only 0.2 seconds per lap slower than the outgoing V2. The main layout is 2.5 miles, but there is a shorter 1 miles layout that is possible. The article doesn't specify which layout was used, but it does note that current Italian Superstock champion Davide Stripe was the rider.
I certainly HOPE it's true, because I'm all for progress. But I'll believe it when I see it or read it from somewhere like RRW, not from the mouths of the people who are selling the 'great thing' that used to build that other thing lol
70% of peak torque available at 3000 RPM, sounding like this bike has more under the curve compared to the outgoing V2 even if it's peak is lower. Similar pattern the R9 is going for, spread the power instead of lump it all at a narrow peak.
I've read into it. Completely new motor design which on its own sheds over 20lbs. No more desmo valves, but gains VVT allowing that monster torque spread. Oh yeah and the cost? 15,995. That's a fucking dagger from Ducati.
KTM RC990 also released at EIMCA. Looks like R9, RC990, and new V2 will be very similar in performance.
So i love that Akra WSS exhaust , is the price really $8k? If so what will the poors like us run? I prefer the longer canister not the shorty
