I am usually skeptical of overseas reports. It's official when the 'murican Ulrich family says it's so.
I'll chime in. Neither confirmed but what makes sense. Strack and N2. Blake Davis to one or the other.
A week or so ago I saw a Instagram screenshot from Attack Performance of a R9 bare frame stating they were designing parts.
During Dustin's podcast a couple of weeks ago, Richard (Stanboli) said that they had already begun making parts for it. Then on a separate podcast, Dustin showed the R9 that was in the shop. Realistically, other than rearsets and triples, most everything else bolt-on that can be added is readily available since the engine has been around for quite some time. Outside of that, it's clear that other suppliers have had access to it as they World SSP model clearly is ready to roll. We'll see next month. Mazi's interview said he tested a model that was in between the street and SSP and it "edged" better. If I take that to mean that it corners better, that's a good thing. But overall we'll see after the November test.
Not Attack. Richard has made that clear a few times. Unless Yamaha asks them to, they are only doing motors for Strack (possibly others) and supplying parts. Most likely Strack as they gained Yamaha support last year.
My boys just put their R9 on the dyno. It's more powerful and a lot torquier than the R6. Akrapovic told them it's as strong as the Ducati V2.
But, but, it's slower than the R6 so we should let it into Middleweight, it won't be an issue, honest... Hopefully that conv stops happening now.
Sounds like it is made for me. I just turned 60, and remember 60 is the new 40, just like 9 pm is the new midnight!!!
Yeah, but there was some logic to that. M1 was the first one. When they decided to expand the range, they use the number matching the body of the base car. So they could reuse the same name on each subsequent generation and still make sense. And to keep the M1 special, they did not reuse the name. As you pointed out, they went with 1M. Ironically, that also became an icon.
The defintion of "middleweight" has changed. Anything can be middleweight outfitted with a Mectronik ECU to neuter the power.
