Anyone else watching this version of football? It's not up to the NFL level (although the Washington team did play like the 'skins) but it's not as bad it could or should be. Don't hate it.
I enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing McGloin play tomorrow. I like the tweaks to the rules. I wouldn't be surprised if the NFL adopted some of them at some point, especially the kickoff. I was in Orlando during the first iteration and attended some Orlando Rage games. I didn't think the actual football was as bad as everyone says. I think XFL will stick around. The NBA ratings continue to tank, and with the legalization of gambling, it is another thing to gamble on.
I watched some. I like the kick-off rule, one foot inbounds and the options for the point after. The majority of the players were noticeably slower than the NFL but if the goal is for it to be a development league I would say it has a chance.
You thought it was slower? I thought it moved much faster other then the dropped balls and lesser playing skills. Field dimensions seemed weird to me.
Sorry, I should have been clearer. Yes, the game time was faster but the players were slower/less skilled. To be expected considering they aren't NFL players but I think Clemson or LSU would fare well in the XLF.
