Aren't they racing the new entry Harleys somewhere too? Is Redbull behind something like that. I know I saw it somewhere but can't remember.
They seem to have a handle on it for the TT? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZGeRaEPL45o I see it as just another control on the bike. Nothing says they have to pull on it.
They ran an exhibition race sometime last year with a select field of about 5 riders to get the X-Games folks attention. They are still building the XR replacement, using an XG base.
TT is a different deal all together. In real flat track on a dirt oval you never load the front enough to use the front brake.......believe it or not, those flat track dudes know what they are doing. Ask Marquez or Bayliss.
My old man started me out flat-tracking when I was a kid. We (he) modified an MX bike for me to learn on. We had this conversation while I was working the front brake.... Dad: Ignore the front brake. You don't need it. Me: Huh? Why wouldn't I use it? Dad: Well, try it and see if it helps. Me: Okay, I will (mr know-it-all) Bike: CRASHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Me: OW!!!!!!! Dad: I told you to ignore it. Hahaha.
Halbert 4th all top 4 running 23.6. I got slammin Sammy FTW! The tougher and rougher the track the faster he goes!
And yes they would/could go faster with front brakes. I've used them with success in outlaw events. Chip they absolutely load the front plenty especially on a mile or tacky 1/2 mile. Like bottom out loaded.
