Flat track on the X-Games is is live tonight on ESPN. Gate start and the track fabricated out of nothing should be interesting. So far the riders are NOT happy with the track. This event has been a gold mine for Flat Track athletes though with everybody showing up with new sponsors for this event. My favrite new addition is Bryan Smith sporting Kid Rock's Badass Beer sponsorship....lol... Interesting road race participants are Jake Johnson is riding a Colin Edwards Boot Camp sponsored XR750 and Danny Eslick is riding an XR750 for the Harley-Davidson of Salina/T&R Racing Jared Mees for the win riding a Millennium Technologies sponsored XR750. I attached the event schedule....
It's cool as f@ck they have this in the x games now but I wonder why they made it a big bike event and not 450s? Seems like it would keep cost down and participation up.
And really let's be honest, the "show" is the twins class. BTW, I noticed Millennium Technologies got a thanks from Jared on the Sac podium
It's an invite only. Participation seems fine. Other than Team Zanotti being out of working motors after Sacramento, scratching Henry Wiles from this event.
He better be doing some thanking! Lol.... Check out the lid: Monster Energy is joining us on the lid for X-Games...
Is that for you guys, or are they an event sponsor? I saw Danny E had a Rockstar lid, just curious...
Part of me wonders how having full brakes would change the sport. How much deeper could they go, testing front grip before rolling off. I'd kinda like to see it where they had to brake and shift with every corner and straight. More of a paperclip layout/effect with the bikes fully upright between corners.
Then don't brake so hard/deep. It would add another element of bike control. Maybe some riders would be monsters on the brakes, some might be better at getting out of the corner. More strengths and weaknesses to play against each other.
