NEW SCHEDULE: all the session times for Portimao’s sunset extravaganza WorldSBK Obvious question is can anybody challenge Toprak? Probably not... Latest news on Gerloff's future: Puccetti to race official Kawasaki bike in 2025, three riders in contention for seat | World Superbikes | Crash
Such a gorgeous track. It doesn't matter what type of bike races there, it always makes me want to ride. Go Garrett! -T
Minus 1 team. Sam Lowes missing this one just like he missed the WDW Lenovo ROC. https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/worldsbk-elf-marc-vds-racing-team-skipping-portimao/
One of my favorite tracks. Glad we have some racing this weekend on a MotoGP biweek. I hope Toprak can win every fing race the rest of the season to throw a gauntlet season down. I hope GG can get a ride next year.
Didn't they make the Puccetti announcement yet? GG's YouTube hinted last week that we'd see an announcement soon about him staying in the WSBK paddock for 2025. As for the rest of the field, Toprak winning every race doesn't help anyone but Toprak. I want to see 7 riders at the front all vying for the win! -T
GG is staying in WSBK next year. Already a done deal, just waiting on official announcement. Guessing Puccetti since that's where all the rumors have been and honestly... not sure how many other teams would even want him at this point MIE Honda is the only other one I can think of that might.
Beat me to it on the GG announcement. And I'll disagree on the Toprak thing for this year... but this year only. Right now, I find it enjoyable to watch just because it's so damn impressive. But yea, next year tie a parachute to his ass and get back to multi-rider battles at the front lol.
I suppose that it could be done if you have your own jet and start from Australia but that's gonna be a mofo of a day for a few laps of action.
The Crash article (link in OP) states that Puccetti will have a factory spec bike next year. The article, that mentions him, plus two other riders in contention for the seat, is a few days newer than Gerloff's YT video although Gerloff stated that he had signed a deal, and it would be announced the following Tuesday? Hoping he has it as it seems to be the best available option for him at this point.
I told you guys last month. Sum y'all didn't believe me. They're stepping it up next year. Gerloff would be lucky to have that right, considering the alternatives.
Meh, I've said it before but its bears repeating. I'd rather him back in MA on a superbike as long as it doesn't push another good rider out (which admittedly is a big ask).
Goals.. In all seriousness, not to threadjack, anyone done this before and have pointers? I'll gladly pick your brain about riding overseas.
Finally official. https://www.worldsbk.com/en/news/20...team will run current season ZX10RR next year
A friend of mine rode Phillips Island on his honeymoon. They went to OZ and his new wife bought him a track day there. He rode BMW S1000RR for a day. She was even to hide his leathers from him until she told him what she did. He said it was AWSOME and felt like a Factory rider as all he did was get on the bike and ride it then pull into the pits and get off of it.
