Huge Props to Toprak. He had a life-threating crash awhile back, and this was his first race weekend back in the saddle. Very cool to see him slowly regain aggression starting on Friday, which is crucial to racing. If you hesitate, you are lost. He did it, he's back. The old adage 'never make racing decisions from a hospital bed' rings true.
I wonder if an aero update etc is coming? Puccetti ran well with Toprak a few years back. If they can step up there tech etc who knows? GG will have to learn to ride differently though without the top end which is a drag
I think the Kawi with the concessions may be better than people think. Rea (obviously) consistently kept that bike well ahead of where Lowes did. Now with the concession Lowes has it further up front. Bassani hasn't been the same since off the Ducati, and Rinaldi hasn't been the same since off the factory ride. I'm optimistic that GG will be able to be at least on par with his BMW performance while on the Kawi.
And it's so good to see him being aggressive again and going for passes and defending thoroughly. Love to see it.
