The OEM Yuasa (date sticker says 2014) in my 2015 1290 KTM still cranks it well. Needed a boost first start of the year, but since then it holds about 12.6V over a week, maybe 2. I can tell it won't crank as long anymore, but still gets it done. For reference OEM battery in my 2021 890 was dead in April. Of course it's made by Ganjes River Trading Company, but coincidentally that's the new low score for me.
Typically get 12 to 14 on a Yuasa. BT all winter in the basement and probably once a week while in the barn during the summer. The wife has a CanAm Ryker and the crap Chinese battery didn't make it 2 years. They bilt that bike so the only replacement battery that would fit was another Chinese crapola.
The original battery in my TL went 9 years before I changed it and then it wasn't done but was getting sluggish and I didn't want to get stuck somewhere.
This was the first year since 2004 the Yuasa in my father's Harley Sportster failed to start the bike at the beginning of the year. He felt it necessary to text this fact yesterday.
Same. Just replaced(still functioning but spinning a bit long to start occasionally) what I'm 99.9% sure to be the oe in my 2013 FJR that was sold in 2014. Sitting in my bench voltage is still nearly 13 but I haven't load tested yet. I suspect it will be low amp when I do. I'll put it in my Bandit until it gives up completely. Less draw, I figure another few years.
I have an early production Ballistic I bought from Chip so long ago I cannot possibly remember. It's still sitting on 13v in my toolbox. Never been on a charger in it's life. I only changed it out because it's so freaking old I was scared it would suddenly die. It wasn't struggling or anything.
My 2013 Touareg TDI battery was working fine after 9 years, but I was about to take a long road trip, so I swapped it out. If the battery was in a normal location that didn't involve removing the driver's seat, a special tool for the bolts, and deadlifting 80lb straight up while leaned over into the vehicle to swap it out, I would have chanced it. Note that you have to provide some power to adjust the seat in order to be able to get to the bolts to remove the seat. Brilliant design.
I just replaced the costco battery in my truck. Sticker is punched in 2010 (don't remember month). It still works, it powered my fish finder all weekend on a fishing trip, just wouldn't turn the truck over anymore.
