What the hell is up with used truck prices?

No, finally decided to get something newer and have a truck on order. Hoping to find an enthusiast that gives me top dollar for mine, certainly a small but loyal customer base.

 

2017 F350 gas crew cab FX4 XLT 66k on the clock.

Just got a mail offer from the local dealer to buy it for 42k.

I don't think I paid that much for it...?

 

i have a picture of a certified check for mine from a dealer now, awaiting him to show up and get the truck. between that and what i got from the FCA emissions settlement, ownership cost me less than a grand a year for that truck while putting 70k miles total on it.

 

My Silverado lease is up in October and the buy price is $26,600, Carmax said they'd give me $34,000 for it now.
