These came of my 05 r6. I bought it used (ama bike) and am not sure if these are RJL's or SRJL 17's - I'm looking for a definitive answer, no maybes about it. The pads were outstanding but I'm also considering trying some of their other compounds - there are no markings what so ever on these. I suspect they are the RJL based on the number of grooves but regardless, these were excellent pads and I would appreciate if some could tell me for sure. Also, does anyone have any experience with the SRJL 17 vs. the SRJL X. The website says they're the same thing just 1mm thicker on the SRJL X but I guess I'm looking for confirmation. If it matters, I'm a pretty late braker and like bite but I'm also 145 with gear so I'm not necessarily too heavy on them either. Money can be an issue so I'm looking for something that will last as well as perform... Thank you in advance.
Taking a look at the Picture you posted, it looks like you have the Vesrah SRJL-17 compound pad. Reasons: 1. 3 groves shows that you are using the VD-248 pad shape. 2. The backing pad shows two small circles and a gray coating that are on the SRJL-17's and not on the RJL See the picture below.... Now, In the VD-248 pad shape, Vesrah makes 3 compounds - RJL - SRJL-17 - SRJL-8 The performance curves for the 3 compounds are graphed below. Since you liked the current feel of your brake pads, I would suggest you stick with the SRJL-17 compound pad. If budget is an issue the RJL pads are less expensive, but keep in mind they do have a different feel. As you mentioned the SRJL-X compound is the same as the SRJL-17 compound, just 1mm thicker. This pad was made for endurance race teams and at this time only 04-08 Suzuki GSXR600/750/1000 have this option. Plus the SRJL-X pad costs $180 vs. $150 for the SRJL-17 pads ($150 is the price for BOTH calipers, one bike set) Note: I am an advertiser on WERA and I happen to sell these pads
Awesome! Actually I was planning to buy them from you already, once I figured out what I had - I haven't found a better price than you. I actually wanted to call you with the question at hand but couldn't find a number. Anyway, I agree based on the pictures that its the SRJL 17 so thank you and I'll be placing an order asap. Oh and, do you have a phone number?
