This kind of logic is getting into the weeds of un-enforceable rules... and I challenge you to show me a true SS ex500 in the wild

You'll see one at road Atlanta. Give me a heads up if I need to bring extra gaskets for a teardown.

@Mongo the CBR500 would still qualify for the lower class (i.e. E class), correct?

Which is exactly why I don't have a problem allowing them :D If one can even remotely keep up they'll be cheating no matter who is on it.

Yeah, no change on that pig unless Honda makes it faster. It's still performance indexed into E.

Okay 2025 rules are up - basics that affect endurance are added allowing brakes to be changed in E & F so that carries to the main ULW class. Did make a ULW 500 class for the three main new bikes. It's down in the allowed modifications portion of the endurance rules but I did allow fuel tank mods to allow for dry breaks or modifying the opening to allow for the other styles of dump cans but you can't change the tank shape/size at all other than that.

Would a GS500 fit in the 500 ULW class?

Seriously? I'm voting no because no one should be racing one....

That is just mean!!! I thought it might be a good idea. They are everywhere and cheap with a long history of club racing.

Serious answer is I'd consider it.

If I were to put one together for this, I'd consider asking you to find a class for it.

Tbh I've been building my SS ex500 since October and up until this was announced I was planning on entering, asking for forgiveness, then making a case for vintage 500 twins to be allowed into ULW and E as a budget entry option anyways.

(Well aware that's not the actual right way to go about it but I wanted to have an actual metric prior to saying "hey let a 500 in with 400s!")

As someone who DID race a Production Twins GS500E... you'll be down on power, and up on weight...

Yeah, but I just found a stocker on marketplace for $350.
