Trying to decide on a new bike

Since all my bikes burned up in the wildfire, and I am waiting on Insurance to pay me out for them, I am trying to decide on a new bike. My wife has already decided she is getting a ZX4RR to replace her Ninja 650, but I need a bike that can do both commuting and track day duties. (I will pick up another dedicated race/track bike further down the road, hopefully a Kramer).

Bikes under consideration are (all new) ZX6R, Tuono V4 factory, Ducati Streetfighter V2 (current gen, not the upcoming), Mv Agusta Brutale RR, MV Agusta F3R, Panigale V2, Ducati Hypermotard or?

My commute is about 10 miles of mixed city and coastal farm roads and I normally hit up the canyons on the weekends.

I am generally not a fan of Japanese bikes and am trying to keep the cost below $20k. My favorite bike I just lost was my Indian FTR Carbon R, but it was not suited for track duty due to weight and cornering clearance, so I probably will not consider another one.

Tuono would be my choice if the RSV4 isn't on the list. Why isn't the RSV4 on the list?

Out of curiosity, why not the new V2?

    MT 10 has cruise control.

My last track bike I just sold was a RSV4 RF, it is just a bit TOO committed/Too much power for street riding

I think the S1000's are out of my price range.

I might, but with the drastic decrease in power I think I would be just as well off picking up another RS660. I really want something in that 140-180hp range.

I forgot to add a 1390 superduke R evo, its a couple grand too much, but KTM always has deals.

had a 765RS, was thrououghly unimpressed with it, BUT I also had a speed triple, and that thing was fun. The 1200RS has been added to the contender list!

A naked sports bike is what seems to fit your needs the best. I like Triumphs, but it comes down to personal taste. I think you'd be happy with a 765 Street Triple RS or the new KTM Duke 990. Unless you have a huge frame, then I'd go for the Speed Triple RS.

Have you seen a delivery date yet? I really want one of those, but don't know if I can wait that long to get back on a bike lol.

Since it's going to be a track day bike, get the one that has the best potential for enticing sponsors.

Your wife has good taste in motorcycles. The two must do things are flash the restrictions out and do the suspension tweaks that are in the August 2023 issue of Roadracing World. The difference is amazing. I know she's going to love it. Do yourself a favor a take it out on the track day. It's where that bike was meant to be.

Where's the obligatory nonsense 2-stroke suggestions?

    Aprilia RS250 is non-japanese and under $20k.

Ktm 1390 SDR. Sexy looks with latest tech and cruise control to include fast on track. Oh yea, new Cam Shift heads are 37k valve intervals. I paid $19.7 for mine.
