Ron was the top Michelin guy in the western hemisphere for a very long time, was based in France before that. The story was cool and told as a historical part of Michelin in executive company at serous meetings so I always took it to be truth.
I still have a big Bib that inflates with a fan in his foot. I also have two huge B'stone stick people that use two big fans each to wiggle around.
HA! This is a sore subject. Back in 2000 I had a Dainese "Safety suit" and it was all white with some small color highlights. I was also heavy at the time around 240lbs. All my racer "friends" called me the Michelin man. Fuckers. It was funny but it hurt... lol So I lost that m-fing weight!
That’s funny, but shitty… what’re friends for I guess…. Good job using it as fuel for betterment… during my race career I was 168-174 for decades and still always felt fat… I’m 6’2” but used to be 240 and I never got over the fat kid syndrome… I don’t starve myself anymore so I hover around the middle at a comfortable weight
I've been told that if the Michelin man runs really fast, his feet will come out from under him with no warning.
Its funny because your racing friends are like 4 years olds. They tell the truth. They werent lying. My weight back then hindered me riding. Still sucked to hear but they werent wrong. Even today. I am hovering around 198 when I should be 185lb with the muscle I have (would be super low body fat). Racing the 600 now, I need to be close to 180 and Im not. It showed last weekend. But I will try to get there before next month round in Nov. I take it with a grain of salt. It sucked but was still funny cause I know I looked like the Michelin man when I was all chubby and in all white suit.
I lost 60 pounds to start racing so I only ever had to go from thin to scrawny for racing thankfully… one more thing to thank racing for… keeping us healthier… how’s your arm? Must be better as you’re racing and excited about it… that’s really cool that you got it straightened out… pun intended
Haha, honestly trying to race 3 weeks post surgery wasnt the best idea. But I managed. Came away with 3rd place for both races I entered first time with CVMA. Gonna try and chase the championship like an idiot but thats what we do. It would help if I built my motor and lost another 15lbs. But again... I will manage. I creeped on your page today. Dang you really have a nice racing resume. Was nice to see.
